SM Security Guard Recognized for Saving a Customer

SM Security Guard Hassan Pasco made it his life mission to dedicate himself to the noble pursuit of being in service to others. SG Pasco selflessly serves and safeguards the well-being of his client’s customers, most especially those who are in need.

In recognition of his selflessness and courageous actions during a critical and life-threatening situation on June 25, 2023, SG Hassan Pasco, a guard at SM City San Pablo, was awarded a plaque of recognition by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

While conducting his regular rounds, SG Pasco noticed a 74-year-old customer. The customer was experiencing difficulty breathing due to an obstruction in his throat. Thanks to Pasco’s training in first aid rescue techniques, he immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver (Abdominal Thrusts). Ultimately, saving the customer’s life.

SG Pasco’s dedication to preparedness is evident through his regular participation in refresher courses conducted by a Certified First Aid Trainer from the Philippine Red Cross. These training sessions take place every morning before the mall opens. This ensures he stays equipped with the necessary skills to respond effectively in emergencies.

The CDRRMO Management Council in San Pablo, Laguna, commended SM Security Guard Pasco for his quick thinking, decisive action, compassion, and unwavering commitment to preserving human life. His exemplary conduct has had a remarkable impact on the community he serves. Additionally, as a token of appreciation, SG Pasco received P10,000 from the City Administration Office.
