I am a woman in process. I’m just trying like everybody else. I try to take every conflict, every experience, and learn from it. Life is never dull.”
– Oprah Winfrey

Soon to be crossing the age of 4-0, I have thought much about myself these past months (the pandemic surely did give us time to think things through). I have changed so much in the last decade. Motherhood has transformed me that sometimes I have to ask myself: Who am I other than being a mother?
And I believe other moms feel the same way I do. Specially moms who have given their career a backseat and have focused on managing the household and raising little versions of themselves. The usual chores, the mess, the hugs and kisses have kept us busy that sometimes we forget about our own well-being. And this could toll mommy’s mental health.
We gotta take care of our noggin’, momma.
Hence this site was born. In my blog Petite Momma’s World, I focused on writing about my life as a stay-at-home mom. Meanwhile, here at Over a Cup of Hot Cocoa, I would like to inspire mommies to make the best of the present, work on our personal development, and manage our mental health.
We are a work in progress, let’s talk it over a cup of hot cocoa.
Update: I turned 40! And now a certified Transformation Coach
Kat is a mother of three kids who she homeschools with her husband. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling, she was an HR specialist with a background in employee relations, training, and instructional design. She enjoys drinking a cup of hot cocoa in the morning or when in front of her laptop, writing. Her love for cocoa was probably inherited from her late grandmother, Lola Dids, who raised her kids as a young widow by selling tablea in Iloilo.
